The reserve’s topography is mainly open savannah (grassland) with clusters of acacia trees, forest, thorn trees and grassland vegetation and the surrounding is an area of spectacular scenery with its dry plains bisected by the meandering life lung Ewaso Nyiro River that cuts through this reserve, drawing a big population of wildlife to the park.
