Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi National Park
Your 8-day Kenya safari circuit begins in Nairobi with a visit to Nairobi National Park, the only national park in the world located next to a capital city. After breakfast, enjoy a guided game drive where you may spot rhinos, lions, giraffes, buffaloes, and a wide range of birdlife, all set against the dramatic backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline. Later in the day, transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, preparing for the exciting safari journey ahead.
Days 2: Nairobi - Samburu
After an early breakfast, travel north through changing landscapes toward Samburu National Reserve, known for its rugged beauty and unique wildlife. Arrive in time for lunch at your safari lodge or tented camp, followed by an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. This reserve is home to rare species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich, offering a distinct and rewarding safari experience. Dinner and overnight are in Samburu.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve
Spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The river attracts large concentrations of elephants, predators, and birdlife, making wildlife viewing excellent throughout the day. Between game drives, enjoy leisure time at your lodge while taking in the serene wilderness surroundings. As evening falls, return to camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars of northern Kenya.
Day 4: Samburu - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, depart for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a leading wildlife conservation area located between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. Arrive for lunch before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is renowned for its rhino conservation efforts and is home to both black and white rhinos, as well as the last remaining northern white rhinos. You may also spot lions, elephants, and chimpanzees at the sanctuary. Dinner and overnight are within the conservancy.
Day 5: Ol Pejeta - Meru National Park
Following breakfast, continue eastward to Meru National Park, one of Kenya’s most unspoiled and scenic safari destinations. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive through diverse landscapes of rivers, woodlands, and open plains. Meru offers excellent wildlife viewing, including elephants, leopards, lions, and rare species such as the lesser kudu. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge or camp within the park.
Day 6: Meru National Park
Enjoy a full day in Meru National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. The park’s remote setting and rich habitats support a wide variety of wildlife and bird species, providing a peaceful and rewarding safari experience away from the crowds. Between activities, relax at the lodge and take in the natural beauty that inspired the famous conservation story of Born Free. Dinner and overnight are in Meru.
Day 7: Meru to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park, traveling south toward the Kenya–Tanzania border. Arrive in time for lunch before setting out on an afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famed for its large elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. As the afternoon light fades, enjoy photography opportunities and wildlife sightings across the open plains. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge or camp in Amboseli.
Day 8: Amboseli National Park
On your final day, enjoy an early morning game drive in Amboseli, when wildlife is most active and Mount Kilimanjaro is often clear. After breakfast, depart the park and begin your return journey to Nairobi, marking the end of your unforgettable 8-day Kenya safari circuit. You leave with lasting memories of Kenya’s diverse ecosystems, abundant wildlife, and remarkable landscapes.
