Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi - Samburu
Your 8-day Kenya and Tanzania safari begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, traveling north to the rugged landscapes of Samburu National Park. Arrive in time for lunch at your safari lodge or tented camp before setting out on an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu is home to unique northern species such as the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and Somali ostrich, alongside elephants and big cats. Dinner and overnight are spent in the heart of this remote wilderness.
Days 2: Samburu National Park
Spend a full day exploring Samburu National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Day 5: Chyulu Hills - Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar, Tanzania’s iconic island destination. Upon arrival, check in at your beachfront resort and spend the afternoon unwinding on powder-white beaches or swimming in the warm Indian Ocean. Dinner and overnight are at your resort, beginning your tropical island escape.
Day 6: Zanzibar
Wake up to ocean views and enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your resort. This day is dedicated to leisure and optional activities such as snorkeling, diving, spice tours, or exploring Stone Town’s rich cultural heritage. Day 7: Zanzibar - Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, depart Zanzibar and fly to Selous Game Reserve (now part of Nyerere National Park), one of Africa’s largest protected wilderness areas. Arrive in time for lunch at your safari lodge or camp before embarking on an afternoon game drive or river safari along the Rufiji River. Selous is known for its vast landscapes, large populations of elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and predators. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge in Selous.
Day 8: Selous Game Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive or boat safari in Selous Game Reserve, when wildlife activity is at its peak. After breakfast, begin your onward journey, marking the end of your unforgettable 8-day Kenya and Tanzania safari.
