DAY 1: ARRIVAL – ARUSHA
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet with your guide. You will then be transferred to the hotel in Arusha for your overnight stay. Arusha, a city in Tanzania, East Africa, is located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It is a gateway to various safari destinations as well as to Africa’s highest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895m), situated some 100 kilometers north-east.
DAY 2: ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Depart from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Go on a full-day game drive in the park and enjoy a picnic lunch in the wilderness. In the evening, drive to your lodge for a sunset dinner and overnight stay. Note: The Park is located slightly off the main safari route. This lovely, quiet park in northern Tanzania is most famous for its elephant migration, birding and authentic safari atmosphere. The majority of travelers to the region either miss visiting Tarangire or venture into the park for only a matter of hours, leaving parts of Tarangire virtually untouched. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 3: TARANGIRE – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara for a game drive in the park. In the afternoon your driver will provide you with a full lunch. Continue with your game drive until evening, then head to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. Lake Manyara provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded, and even a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.
DAY 4: LAKE MANYARA – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Depart after breakfast and drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge. Enjoy a full lunch, with refreshments, and continue your game drive in central Serengeti. In the evening, head to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. Note: Serengeti National Park is well known for its healthy stock of resident wildlife, particularly the “Big Bive”, named for the five most prized trophies taken by hunters. The Serengeti is believed to hold the largest population of lions in Africa, due to the abundance of prey. More than 3,000 lions live in this ecosystem. The african leopard, a reclusive predator, is commonly seen in the Seronera region, but is present throughout the park with a population of around 1,000. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
DAY 5: FULL DAY SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Breakfast at the lodge will be followed by a full-day game drive in the park. In the evening, your safari guide will prepare sundowner cocktails before you head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. The Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Masai Mara Game Reserve across the border in Kenya, protect the greatest and most varied collection of terrestrial wildlife on earth. It is one of the last great migratory systems still intact. The Serengeti is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s protected areas, which altogether make up some 14% of the country’s land area, a conservation record that few other countries can match. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
DAY 6: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO
After breakfast, depart from your lodge for a game drive in the Serengeti. In the afternoon, enjoy lunch prepared by your guide. In the late afternoon, drive to Ngorongoro and visit the Masai villages. Check into the camp for dinner and overnight stay. The leopard, a reclusive predator, is commonly seen in the Seronera region, but is present throughout the park with a population of around 1,000. Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: NGORONGORO CRATER – LAKE EYASI
After breakfast, go on a game drive toward the crater. Enjoy a hot lunch in the afternoon. Drive to Lake Eyasi and check in to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay. Note: The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq. kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of hippo,
flamingo and other water birds can usually been seen here. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge.
DAY 8: LAKE EYASI- ARUSHA
Depart early on a hunting experience with bushmen. Return to your lodge for breakfast. Drive back to Arusha. Note: Small groups of Hadzabe bushmen live around Lake Eyasi. Their language resembles the click languages of other bushmen further south in the Kalahari. Their small population was seriously threatened, in particular during the period when Julius Nyerere tried to introduce his Ujuma policy. Drop off to the city hotel or airport for your flight to the next destination.
