About Zanzibar North Coast

Most of Zanzibar's coastline empties out at low tide. The north coast does not, which is why Nungwi and Kendwa carry the island's best beachfront hotels and its most reliable swimming.

Days here are spent on water that shifts from turquoise to deep blue, on private boats out to the Mnemba atoll reef, and on dhows that sail straight into a west-facing sunset. It is a 90 minute private transfer from the airport and pairs perfectly with a Serengeti or Maasai Mara safari.
